5 Top Color Trends for Fall 2013 (and the Jewels to Pair With Them)
Posted on August 12, 2013
It seems like the Fall/Winter 2013-2014 fashion shows were forever ago (and, they were), but it's finally getting to be the time when we see those runway looks come to life. In stores and magazines, on red carpets, and elsewhere, we get to see how the most elite designers' visions fared against the fashion industry's—and its followers'—inclination to bite (or, well, buy). The fashion world may stake its claims with regard to our wardrobe choices each season, but no ensemble, no matter how chic, is complete without its finishing touch: jewelry. Standouts like navy and gorgeous cobalt blues, creamy neutrals, and a whole lot of gray ruled the runways from New York to London and Paris to Milan, but a few other combinations were noted, too. Here are five of what I think are the most interesting, exciting colors for the season, complete with the jewels you just have to stock to pair with them. Now, orange you glad it's almost fall? (Sorry, I just had to go there!)

Chalk it up to the olive drab camo pattern that (sort of) caught on this summer. The mossy green hue is subtle enough to function as a neutral base color and it's seriously sophisticated.

Fashionably-approved or not, when autumn is upon us I crave the spicy, warm hues of orange to welcome it. (Whether it can be appropriately pulled off with my red hair is another discussion, but I digress). Thankfully, the rich hue made its way to the catwalk this year.
